2001 : A Space Odyssey
At the dawn of humanity, a group of primates, discovers a strange black monolith, which terrifies the fascinating but allows them to evolve. In the early twenty-first century, Dr. Heywood Floyd on a mission to the confidential Clavius base. Americans have discovered in the lunar soil, 12 feet deep near the crater Tycho, a black monolith. All indications are that he was buried here, 4 million years ago, intentionally. So it’s the proof of extraterrestrial intelligence.
18 months later, the Discovery is on its way to Jupiter to discover the origins of the monolith. On board a crew of five, three are in deep sleep, and a computer HAL 9000, the latest advances in artificial intelligence, deemed infallible.
