Darth Vader Original Mask Used on the Original Star Wars

Estimates of the number of Darth Vader masks made for George Lucas' Star Wars (1977) film vary between two and four, including prototypes. Only one or two would appear on screen, including this one, which can be recognized in the opening sequence of the film by certain specific markings, notably on its cheek. It is therefore the only existing mask in the world that survived the shooting of the first film and is identified as such. This is the reason why we refrained from restoring it.

If the mask is damaged, it's because an imprint was made of the latter, for the sequel of the film The Empire Strikes Back, in order to make new Vader's masks for this second shooting.

This mask is a testimony to the sag's genesis and of this iconic character. It is a very important piece in the history of cinema and pop culture.
