Dan Madsen

Dan Madsen is an American who was passionate about the Star Trek universe. He has done more for the community of Star Trek and Star Wars fans than any other fans on the planet.

Indeed, in the 70's, well before the Internet arrived, Dan Madsen, inspired by the Gene Roddenberry's series, publishes a newsletter to promote the series. It was so little known to the world of fans that it was even read by the creator of the series. In the early 80's Dan Madsen's career was going to take a new turn when Paramount Pictures offered him to lead the Official Fan Club. During 25 years, the Star Trek Comunicator has allowed fans to learn about movies and series, actors, licensed products, collectible and anecdotes.

A few years later in 1986 when he attended the casting for the main part in Willow produce by George Lucas, Lucasfilm Ltd. did made him the same proposal. Dan Madsen did launch the same concept on the Star Wars saga, and did it on other productions and became the Founder, President and Publishing Director of the following clubs:

• Star Trek Communicator and Official Star Trek Fan Club
• Star Wars Insider and Official Star Wars Fan Club
• Back to the Future Fan Club magazine and Official Back to the Future Fan Club
• Lord of the Rings Fan Club magazine and Official Lord of the Rings Fan Club

He produced the first official Star Wars Celebration convention in 1999 to celebrate the release of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. As Chief of all the Star Wars' fans, George Lucas made him do a cameo in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace in the part of Dams Denna, the Kaadu's handler.

Dan Madsen, who has always dreamed of being an actor, also appeared alongside William Shatner, the hero of his youth in the comedy Free Enterprise. Through its relationship with Lucasfilm, Dan Madsen also wrote the book "On The Set and Behind the Scenes of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles".

Currently, Dan Madsen is working with actress Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano dans The Clone Wars) is in charge of Marketing/PR & Fan Outreach for Her Universe, specialized in line of female-centered apparel and accessories.
