Artemus Gordon Handbill
This is an original and quite rare piece of set dressing from the classic Television series, The Wild, Wild West. It is a 9" wide by 14.5" high vintage western-style handbill, professionally printed (not a copy) on old-style parchment paper. This is not your typical parchment paper, but a very high quality.
The handbill was designed to be used by actor Harry Morgan alias Robert T. Malone, head of the Secret Service, in the 1979 TV reunion The Wild, Wild West Revisited. This handbill promotes a vaudvillian-style, traveling entertainment extravaganza : "The Deadwood Strolling Players with Assorted Jugglers, Fire-Eaters and Three! Count Them! 3 Beautiful 'Live' Girls, Also Artemus Gordon (Ross Martin) Shakespearean Readings and Quick Change Artiste".
This original, vintage piece of Television history was discovered at CBS Television Studios in the mid 1990's. It was part of a Wild, Wild West discovery which included the now famous Secret Service train caboose couches, window set dressing. Three of these prop handbills are known to exist, one is in the permanent archive of the world renowned Spy-Fi Archives.
